I walk into my math class today and who's in it? An allstar cast of course. Jon Heile, Kevin P, Timothy B, and... wait for it... Ming!
Too bad the material is over my head and I'll probably have to transfer.

Math is all I had so far. Today was first day and I had Philosophy and Geology discussions, but didn't have to go because we need to have a lecture to discuss. I will say though, my philosophy class has nine books. One of which I already owned and one of which I had already read the main essay in.

275? What does that deal with?
According to who you listed that would be over your head... well anyway I'm in math 221 and the only person you listed who was better than me at math was Jon Heile, and even I was better at certain topics than him. Anyway what I'm saying is... well I dunno what I'm saying, but I'm in the highest course available to freshman at Milwaukee. And it's always better to go over a class again to master it. I took algebra twice and am amazing at it now... I figure if I take calculus twice I won't make any mistakes. I know I wasn't perfect at calculus even though I did very well in my King classes.
Anyway, going to a lower class won't make you any less of a person. I know Tim at least winged the hell out of math topics, he had no idea what he was talkinga bout he should really have been in regular calculus again.

Yeah, 221 is normally the highest here too, but 275 is an honors class, mostly meant for math majors. I thought I coud deal with it, but I can't. So it's off to the admissions office for me.

I'm right there with you Matt, on the 'my math class is over my head'. except mine is just honors calculus I. everyone else in that class besides me took calculus in high school, and are actually able to answer and figure out problems that the teacher asked us. yeah, it sucks. and my dad doesn't want me to drop honors, which i would have to do to drop the class. good thing i'm taking it pass fail...who am i kidding ill prolly fail p.s. math blows my figurative ball(oon)s

Im dropping for sure now. Even if I cant swap for something else, I still will have twelve credits, which is decent when coupled with me working and the 29 credits I got from IB... I have to take logic courses for philosophy anyways an those will fulfill my math requirement.

Yeah honors calculus is sort of like taking math topics in high school. Trust me we almost killed ourselves in math topics it was so hard. We had a test where everyone failed but Evan Streng and Andrew Meyer - and they only got 65's or so. I think I got like a 57 before the curve. Anywho, definitely don't take 275 unless you were in topics, and 221 is good for if you took "IB Calculus" in King. If you took pre-calc or math studies 2 I'd go with 231 instead of 221 honors.

Man, just realizing how fucking awesome my schedule is. I got Life, the Universe and Everything (Geology, Astronomy, and Philosophy) covered, all in my first semester.
(and yes, Douglas Adams reference)
