Thomas or anyone, before you have a job...or admit to yourself that you will work at Sazs, plan a trip here.
It seems intimidating a task, but it is simple.
STEPS
1: Plan about a week to be up here.
2: Reserve a ticket on the Ranger III boat which departs out of Houghton/Hancock Michigan. Do this via email, which is what I did. There are a few dates this boat goes directly to Windigo, which is the place on the island Julian and I live. But other than that, it goes directly to the other side which is Rock Harbor.
3: Drive to Houghton Hancock, MI. You could do this in a day if you had amazing stamina, but you would probably need a night of rest. This is the hardest part, but it can be done. You could have someone drive you up, or you could drive yourself up and leave the car there. Plan a trip with someone...IT CAN BE DONE EPIC OMFG JAMELSKE SKEET.
4:If you go to Rock Harbor, you need to get to Windigo (the other side of the island) You can be epic and hike across, but thats pretty epic. It would take you probably 5-6 days and you would need all the gear. It would probably be good not to do it alone either. But, if you want to be epic, you can do that. I got a small exterior frame backpack and some hiking gear, basically the essentials, and although it does cost some money for all this stuff it isnt too expensive and it is useful...especially if we all plan a hiking trip later...LIKE THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL!! But yeah, if you had a group...you could do this, but it would take some time although the 5 days or so spent doing that trail would probably be more enjoyable then seeing Julian and I for however many days.
If you find out the dates the Ranger III goes directly to Windigo, then that settles that. I know next month sometime one of the dates pops up. You would need to look into it a little, since it only does that about 3 times a summer.
You could also spend like $250 and take a seaplane to Windigo from Houghton Hancock, MI.
5:When you arrive in windigo, you are set. You could stay with julian and I if you felt like it or sleep in the camp here. We could chill and enjoy the island and go hiking. Maybe you could plan this at the end of the summer somehow, and Julian and I could hike with you across the island back to Rock Harbor. This can almost be done, if it werent for the luggage Julian and I have here. I am almost tempted to ship my luggage back home at whatever cost and just hike back to Rock Harbor once the summer is over, then take The Ranger III to Michigan by ourselves. If you could get up here and time it right, maybe we could do that?
Remember thomas...think EPIC. Your life is now, and you can do anything...and coming here would be epic awesome so give it a thought.

Dilemma is not lack of epic, dilemma is lack of cash. Boat trip alone is 100 round trip (plus gas and food and stuff). If I could get a job then I could have the cash but than I wouldn't have the time (that is sorta a non-issue since I can't get one anyway). It would be epic but it just doesn't seem possible.
I dunno, maybe at the end of the summer I could pick you guys up in Michigan and we could go on an adventure in northern Wisconsin (although you guys probably have a crap ton of luggage and it might be too close to the beginning of the school year anyway).

When does school start anyways? I was just thinking we could do an adventure if you came and picked us up. Me and sean would totally pay for a large portion of gas if you did. Or at least I know I would.
Just make sure not to say never to these ideas. Anything is a possibility, however remote.
