So today afterschool I played both Nathan Shippee and Julian Salas in some really nice magic games. Its been a while since I got that feeling in magic, like that feeling...when you pwn. I even said like made up catch phrases on the spot, adding sulfur to the wounds of pwnage. Nathan is a pretty good magic player, but noobs out with 40 card decks.
Match between Julian and I: Psychatog VS Hellbent, julian started to cry around the 4th turn when I imprinted my counter magic on an isochron, making the match pointless...it was still awesome though. A few turns later I drew psychatog and came at him for like 29, choosing not to attack him with my 2/2 Mishra worker for some dignity.
Nathan VS Julian: Steriotypical Soldier vs Hellbent: I actually had a lot of faith in Julian the whole of this match, and he was one card away from victory, while Nathan was pulling out ungodly moves with 3 enchantments giving all his creatures +3/+3 and a few wraths of god. But...last turn it was Nathan 5/ Julian 14 or so...and Nathan sadly won. Good game.
Nathan VS Me: Red Goblin VS Psychatog: I was afraid of what a red deck, esp goblin, would do to my psychatog deck because I have never been in that match before and I took a mulligan going second...but Nathan got...raped...pretty quickly. Good game though.
Nathan VS. Me VS Julian: Nathan played his soldier deck, I played the goblin deck, julian played hellbent. I put up as much a fight I could with the goblin deck...but all I had all game were 2 raging goblins and like 9 mountains...so I got pwned...but brought my opponents as far down as I could. Julian and Nathan fought it out...nathan was sure to lose, again, if julian drew his like only burn spell...but nathan used wrath of god and pwned for like 30 damage somehow.
Me VS. Nathan: I played julians hellbent, nathan playes some white protection deck. I played as smart I could and it didnt end up being half bad, but nathan just sat there preventing basically all but 1 dam...so it turned into a standoff. Eventually I had better defenses than him, and he had better offense somehow..but I had the upper hand and he only had about 20 cards left with such a small deck, so he quit.
All in all, I love magic.
