That is a good book. Except its almost too much to handle because is like SKEET literature in your face. Then you get shot and drift away in that oceanic sense.
Anyways, Mr Beil wasnt too bad a teacher. I think I am going to read Darkness at Noon again.

This was easily IB English's best novel. Metamorphosis was a novelette and Black Boy's second part sucked my balls.

yeah but black boy was actually pretty good too. Darkness is better though.

I agree, Black Boy rocked the house. I think it would've been the best if not for the second part. What else was there? Their Eyes were watching god? As I lay Dying? The bluest eye? none compare to darkness, black boy or metamorphosis methinks.

Darkness at noon was pretty interesting, but I think i liked Night better just because i'm more interested in the holocaust.
Hawthorne will always have a special place in my heart, though.
THE GREAT STONE FAAAAAAAACEEEE -you had to be there

man, i wish i got/get to read fun books like that...but nooo, we have to read frickin Beowulf and the Bible...though we did read Bluest Eye, and it made me want to burn things out of sheer boredom. C'mon how can an author make rape uninteresting? I guess Lord of the Flies was decent, at least until my teacher started trying to tie every word into Christianity...then it was just annoying
